Subject:Unable to save metadata

I just use the simplest features of Sound Forge 7 but recently I've run into a little "warning" box which I'd not seen ever before, though I've worked on many similar projects before.

I've changed a stereo mp3 file into a mono file, chopped off some blank space at the end and beginning, and then saved. Several times now a warning box has popped up telling me that it will be unable to save all the metadata in the file.

How important is that warning, and what exactly won't it save?

MP3 metadata is the song, artist, album, comments ect. It is basically text and does not affect the audio data.

I don't have SF in front of me at the moment, but I recall a dialog check box for "Save Meatdata with file".
