Subject:My effects are gone! Posted by: orekelcalvin Date:2/23/2006 10:19:06 AM I've been using ACID Pro 4 (And vegas 4) for quite some time now. I have the "Track EQ" and such plug-ins that came with ACID, and the "ExpressFX" ones that also came with acid along with the Waves gold pack. Everything has been working great until I installed Cubase LE yesterday and I removed my demo version of CD Architecht. After I did that, my "expressfx" and my waves plug-ins are still listed, but my "Sony Track EQ" and "Sony Compression" and all the other Sony plug-ins are gone...this is big trouble because all my projects use Track EQ on every track. I treid running the Pro 4.0f installation again in "repair" mode, but it didn't do anything. Any ideas?

Check with tech support...but I had to do this when I installed ACID 5 demo...When I realized that SQL was running, I immediately decided ACID 5 was not for me, and uninstalled it...my ACID 4 install lost all its plugs. I was instructed to reinstall Acid 4. Yes, you should be very, very angry, and let management hear all about it. Kill your existing programs' functionality when you install and uninstall a demo version of a new program? That is an evil move, or at least a terrible lack of foresight by any standard. Everyone agrees with me on this. Everyone.

I reinstalled ACID (after uninstalling) and I have the Track EQ plug-ins back, but when I open old progject, it says that the effect cannot be opened properly, and it sets all the EQs back to "default", which is flat....I've lost all my EQ settings on all 40 tracks in one projecT!

Reply by: ATP Date:2/27/2006 3:58:12 PM i had the same problem some time ago. i installed ACID5 (in a seperate folder), then decided to stick with 4 and uninstalled it again. after that my effects were missing in ACID4. that is to say, the plugins were still there, but all my Track EQ settings were gone. reinstalling ACID4 didn't help for me. i had to reinstall ACID5 as well just to be able to use ACID4 normally again. maybe you can try to reinstall that CD Architect demo and see if that helps ... Sorry, but I think it is the install of CD architect demo being uninstalled, and you will have to completely uninstall/reinstall your ACID and possibly your Vegas programs.

reinstalling ACID4 didn't help for me. i had to reinstall ACID5 as well just to be able to use ACID4 normally again. maybe you can try to reinstall that CD Architect demo and see if that helps ...
