How do I import FCP movie files into Vegas 4.

My client has a group of rock videos produced in FCP on his mac. He would like me to take the individual song videos and put them together for DVD release do credits etc.

What is the proper way to get these Final Cut Pro movie files into Vegas ...for prep to go to DVD Architect.

I'm on VEGAS 4.0
I'm searching the forums for tips and haven't come up with anything...this seems like something that would occur frequently ..any links to info resources would be much appreciated

Thanks in advance
Bryan

The easiest would be to do a print to (miniDV) tape of the videos from the Mac and import this/these into Vegas for finishing.

While performance isn't as good as with other formats, Vegas should have no problem with Quicktime files. Just drag the files to the timeline.

thanks for the posts..

He is printing for me full bandwith data files...by the looks of them they seem to be AVI sized files.

Are they that different of a file format ...what is the mac format anyway....I know in audio you can convert mac audio files to pc in soundforge....it had to do with header info and one other change that escapes me for the moment. Was hoping for something similar

I think the mini dv route would be my choice otherwise...thanks again
