Are there any plugin and codecs that I can use to open up 2ch AC3 files that are from dvd recorder DVDs? Currently I demux the AC3 file in DVD Decrypter and then convert that to wav in BeSweet/BeLight. I'm looking for ways to have Sound Forge open the AC3 directly and I can convert to wav and do any editing directly. I see that Sony has a AC3 encoder, but somewhat hidden away on their website. If I install this would it allow Sound Forge to open these 2ch AC3 files? |

AC3 editing (opening a .AC3 file) is not supported in Soundforge and editing of any sort from burned DVDs is not officially supported in any SMS product. However: Both Vegas Movie Studio 6 and Vegas 6.0d (full version, not trial) have an import function that let's you extract files from a DVD camcorder, and this supports both PCM and AC3 audio. If you have either of these video products you could do the extract, and then Forge WILL be able to open the files for editing. Authored DVDs are not identical to what a DVD camcorder writes so not everything on an authored DVD will open...but the video and audio of the movie titles should be fine. |
