I just got Sony music studio 6 and am looking for a good audio interface under 2bills. I'm thinking about the M-Audio fast Track. I don't really need something to ellaborate. Just record and playback.

The Fast Track doesn't look bad. I always express reservations about USB audio interfaces. However, it shouldn't be too much of a problem since there are only 2 sources of input.

What were you looking to record? Guitar, vocals or both?

Guitars and bass. I've created some drum loops and want to add the guitar, guitar overdubs and bass parts. For some guitar overdubs I'll probably go direct and bass will go direct too. But the main guitar parts I'll record that with my Shure 57 mic.

I would recommend you a firewire interface if you can afford it. I have M-Audio Firewire audiophile and I am very happy. Before that I had the Tascam US-122 ( USB) and it didn´t do the work. But obviously this is only my experience.

I wish I could get one. I heard alot of positive things about that pecticular one (audiophile) when I was shopping around. But I'm a novice in the digitial engineering part of music and for right now my over all goal is to make good quality demos.
