Subject:suggest sound card

Any suggestions on an external sound card that works well with SF 8. This is for hobby use, recording choir concerts, using a high end laptop, pent 4, 1 gig ram, 80gig hd, somewhere around $500.

The PC spec is of little relevance for what you want to do. What is relevant and missing is your recording chain. Do you need a soundcard with line level inputs, or one with mic preamps ?
