Saving Preferences

I must be simply overlooking this feature so please tell me where or how to do this.

How do you save Vegas v5.0 preferences to a file where they could be saved for later restore. i.e.- If I erase my hard drive and reinstall all my applications how would I restore my Vegas preference settings without going though all of the check boxes?

I don't have the answer you seek, but you can at least save and re-install FXs and tailor-made Plugin Chains using Preset Manager. We should all be using this one.

I'm also listening,

I ahve had to reinstall V5 a few times. I wrote down the preferences - tick-1, tick-2 etc and just copied that on new installation. Not elegant but atleast fool-proof.
Just installed V6.0c (Grazie, you listening?). Here I ran V5 and V6, looking up the relevent preferences from V5 to V6.

Would be nice if it can be saved. Text file??

Yup! Just started my first project with V6. Feeling really brave - but keeping a veg file in V5 as well.
