record it to a track. Copy the track so you have it double tracked ,pan one left one right and render as a new track .

Why don’t you just record it in Mono? Then it will go to each track evenly.

Look up the GSonic GPan plugin. It comes free when you install the demo of GSonic Stereo Enhancer.

I didn't even think about using GPan... Thxs for the tip. I was just thinking of exporting to SF to get the job done. Cool.

I second what JohnnyRoy said. It's a mono source anyway, so there's no point in wasting space by recording in stereo.

If you have a problem monitoring while recording, some audio interfaces have the ability to route the signal to both stereo channels. (At least mine can anyway—an Echo MiaMIDI.)

I'm with md & JohnnyRoy. It's a mono track, so treat it as one. Dual mono tracks will not give you any benifit in sound, except it will be louder.

You can use effects to make it stereo if you want. I think those effects are usually based on chorus or exciter effects.
