Subject:Sync prob for MD

Ive transfered a click trk from Acid to my alesis hd 24 hard drive recorder.
The hd 24 must be the master.I used SMPTE 30 nd for my MTC frame rate.
There is a 10 sec pre roll. Set Acid {5.0 C} to start at 10sec at 30 nd MTC
Transfer went ok.
.I bought a Alesis Fireport {$250, its a ripoff } so i can copy trks directly to my hard drve in wav format.
When i put the transfered wav file back into Acid they dont match.
There is a 1sec 8 frame discrepency { 11 sec 08 frames }
The wav file Lines up at {10 sec 1 frame} in Vegas, and Cubase.
Sync start under advanced settings is at 1sec {the fastest it will let me set}
Is this throwing the Acid software off ???? I have the same settings in Vegas and the is no problems.
Why is it right in Vegas & Cubase and not Acid????
Thanks for your previous help

Hi again frogman,

Couldn't you export the digital audio tracks from the HD24 via Ethernet directly to your computer? (It would've been a lot cheaper to do that instead of using the FirePort.)

What is it you're trying to do exactly? (I know you're trying to sync ACID with the HD24. What do you plan on ultimately doing with this project?)

Hay you know that MD is short for medical doctor .
Soooooooooo........ you could call yourself doctor of Acidoligy!!!!!! :}
Thanks for helping me out here , this sync thing has been a issue for me .
The HD 2 4does not record in wav format,{ propritory format.}
The fireport not only transfers the trks but convers them to wav format.
The E port is hella sloooooow.
Heres what im doing .
First i compose i basic song format useing band in a box.
I save it as a midi file.
Open it in Acid ....chop it up into the full song format, trigger VSI sounds
Put a click trk loop on it.
Lock Acid up to the HD 24 ...then transfer the music mixed to 2 trks and the click trk on a seperate trk to the HD 24.
Record vocals ,guitars, ect , on the HD 24.
I then dump the HD 24 trks back into my puter and put them into Acid.
They should line up with the Excisting trks i used to record into the HD 24.
When i do this i get the problem i posted earlyer.
Ill be working on my puter today & will look for your reply {if your able}
Thanks again... Frog

Oh, dear God, no. ;oD

Hmm...it says in the HD24's manual that it can export tracks in WAV (or AIFF) format via Ethernet. (p. 73) It does also say that it can take about 16 minutes to transfer a 4-minute, 24-track song, but that could be based upon how high a resolution and sample rate was used.

They also mention using FTP software is much quicker than using a Web browser for dowloading/uploading.

Kinda neat, though. You can setup the HD24 as an FTP server so users can connect and upload/download across the Internet.

That seems like a lot to do just to create a project. I just have my guitar effects processor connected to my sound card and record/monitor/playback directly in ACID.

If you're looking to multitrack, the forthcoming ACID Pro 6 will let you do that (provided you have enough hardware inputs).

Hmm.

What is ACID importing the tracks as? One-shots are the only track type that ACID does not stretch. Maybe what's happening is that ACID is recognizing them as Loops or Beatmapped tracks (therefore changing their original length)?

Have you tried changing the track type?
