Why doesn't Sound Forge(8.0b 110) recording (Punch-In) mode allow for recording longer than 2hrs? I transfer longer recordings to digital media and would like to utilize this function so it can stop recording on its own. The maximum for any recording attribute is 2hrs. If you put in any length longer than this it resets to 2hrs. Is this a bug or something I'm missing? I'm able to record as long as I want by just using the auto mode. I have enough free drive space on my capture drive. Any ideas? |

It's just an arbitrary limit. I will submit a feature request to increase it or make it user-definable. In the meantime, "Automatic: Time" or "Automatic: MIDI Timecode" remain the most appropriate ways to do this. Just for kicks, how long is the media you want to record? J. |

The most I would need to record is a little over 8hrs. Basically enough to copy just the audio from government VHS tapes for various audio edits or clean up we need to do to make them suitable for court. But if it could be any amount as long as there is enough storage that would be perfect. The automatic time does work, but I was just confused why I couldn't enter do similar in any amount in the punch in mode. Thanks for the info! |
