Subject:notation in rewire client for Acid 5?

What would help me greatly is not to cycle between Sonar and Acid 5. A good notation rewire client woul;d solve my problem.

Sonar is a much better Midi sequencer and has notation. Acid is much better at adusting tempo to fit music and grooving. Using Acid as a client to Sonar does not solve the problem because this switches off the video display Acid.

Anyone know a good one??

thanks in advance

You looking for something with the ability for traditional notation? I'd like that too (that is, when I actually touch MIDI). I don't mind piano roll views myself, but I'm so used to staff notation it's hard to get myself acclimated to other forms.

Personally, I find notation of little help in working with MIDI. I read standard notation fluently when playing instruments (flutes, keyboard etc), but recorded MIDI ends up with too many odd ties and bits of notes to be of much use - unless you want to quantise everything exactly. The piano roll approach is much better because you can have notes that start or end slightly before or after a beat or beat subdivision, and they are easy to read, when they would be a complete mess in notation.

That said, users of Acid probably make a lot of music that is squarely quantised, so a OMF notation plugin would be nice.

Notation? I don't really use it but if it's useful for some people then bring it on. I'm all for improvements in ACID even if I don't make use of all of them.

I'm not a great fan of having to switch between hosts. It just seems archaic to me. I can't imagine users of Cubase, Sonar or Logic bothering with that sort of thing.
