It is limited to a single stereo file. That is, it is not made for mixing multiple tracks of audio. It is not necessarily a music tool. Lots of folks use Sound Forge all the time, but never edit any music with it, i.e. diaologue or radio shows. Acid is a multi-track music loops program. It allows you to make music by mixing different loops of audio together. The loops have been specially created to be read by Acid. These "Acidized" loops include information about the loops such as Music key, beats per minute etc. You can use the two tools complimentary to each other. There are demos of both you can download to play with. If you are looking make music, get Acid. If you are looking to edit or clean any audio get Sound Forge. You may find you want both. Sound Forge also lets you ACIDize with its own set of ACIDizing tools. It also has an excellent set of tools to help tweak a sample for looping. ACID lets you externally edit any digital audio in a digital audio editor such as Sound Forge. You'll definitely want both if you can afford them. Sound Forge especially is almost essential for troublesome audio as it can edit all the way down to the sample level.
