Greetings - and happy seasons I am now ready after some brain-storming to select ACID 5 as my tool for loop integration and midi - file editing. But I see that there are concerns of an upgrade coming soon, should I hold off for another month or just assume that the release date will be unknown until Sony Media wants it to be? --- Essential weighting factors were... Price, Ease of work flow, Processor dependence and finally core functions. I develop the loops and samples in FLSTUDIO/ Vegas/ Sound Forge. THANKS Kevin |

In the computer industry, to wait is to get left behind. No one outside of Madison knows the planned release date. However, their usual policy is that if you buy the current version 30 or sometimes even 60 days before the new one is released they'll upgrade you for free. Even after that, the upgrade price is usually a steal at around $99 to $150, and during that time period you will have been using and been productive with Acid 5. You'll have to make the decision, but i'm pretty sure if you get it now it won't be wasted money. |
