Subject:VSTi on second drive?

Good day everyone. I am in the process of tweaking a new system and I wanted to know of any pros/cons to installing a VSTi on a secondary drive. My situation is as follows:

3 drives; 1 IDE master and 1 IDE slave on the same cable and on SATA II drive on it's own. SInce my understanding (which is limited) of SATA II means at least twice as fast as IDE drives, so I thought it might speed up my streaming. Also, it is a huge time hog to have to reinstall ALL these sounds everytime I clean up my OS(XP Home) and I am hoping that if they are on a second drive, I won't have to do it every 3-6 mos.
If, I do install VSTi's on a second drive, do I just direct the install to the new drive or do I install on boot drive and just put sounds(libraries) on second drive?

Thanks to everybody who replies!!! luces

There is just a small benefit but not much. Some VSTi’s will be OK but most will want to be reinstalled because their copy protection will require it. I keep all of my sample data on a separate drive. When I reinstalled M-Tron, I was able to not install the sample data and then just point it to the sample data on my media drive. When I re-installed Garrison Personal Orchestra, I could not get it to recognize its own sample data that was already on my PC so I had to reload all the samples again. So it is very dependant on the VSTi’s you have.

I keep all my VSTi’s in "C:\Program Files\Vstplugins" and if the installer gives me a choice, I load the sample data on a second hard drive.
