Partly OT: Pro Tools and codecs

I handed off a firewire drive containing a 92-minute DV feature film, as a Quicktime movie (edited in Vegas but rendered with Quicktime Pro 7, not Vegas) in the Sorenson 3 codec, together with all the project sound files, to a sound house using a ProTools setup. File size is about 5GB.

My sound designer just advised me he can open the wav files with no problem (I'd be astonished if he couldn't), but can't open my Quicktime file (he had asked for a Quicktime movie with timecode burned in) and can only play the opening couple of minutes of the .avi file version that I also put on the drive. The avi file is 20GB but the hard drive containing it is NTFS formatted.

Any thoughts on what's incompatible here? Should I use a codec other than Sorenson 3? He's not sure what to do either, and is about to try installing Quicktime Pro 7 on his Pro Tools system.
