If you are lucky, it is still in your system "trash bin"
Check your desktop, look for the "Recycle Bin" icon....might be in the upper left corner. Right click and select "Open". Look for your veg file. If you find it, right click on it and select "Restore"

Good luck.

Step one STOP all disk writing activity.
Depending on when you accidently deleted the veg files, there is a chance you could recover the deleted file(s) using a program like PC INSPECTOR™ File Recovery. (Even if you emptied your trash) So long as you have not written over the space where the file sits in its deleted state. Go here to download this freeware: http://www.pcinspector.de/
It works as advertised.

if you have the original media, and have "automatic backups" enabled in preferences, you might be able to find the .bak file, just by searching for *.bak files, or as other suggested, you may be able to find it with a recovery application.

Jim H has given you excellent advice. Follow it to the letter, and you should be able to recover your file.
