how can I have another trail period?

is there some way that I can have another trail period - since the one I had before expired, and now I am closer t deciding which software to buy and use.

Thanks

Format your hard drive! Other than that, there is no other way that I know of. 30 days is a long time to allow you to try the software. Most products only offer 15 days. Maybe if you tell us what you want to use the software for and what other applications you are considering, we can give your our opinion since many of us here use several audio applications.

Well -- I want to investigate the media manager in more detail, and look at automation of VST's, as well as how to...

1. Save the Midi traks - with and without volume and panning data
2. Investigate opening up midi files and applying new instruments or different samples
3. Use the rewire feature of FLSTUDIO to investigate how I can sync tracks with ACID
4. Also further study how I can use the wave or loop editor for more complex pattern repition

There are whole list of things that I need to investigate since

I am considering the usage of combined - midi / multitrack application for my audio development

I like the ACID methodology, by the upgrade cost is half of the cost of M-Audio M powered version of Pro Tools. I am still at the preliminary stage of identifying a work flow change.

Therefore another trial would be good, to really see the differences.

Thanks,
Kevin

Understood. The Media manager is a shared component with Vegas 6 so you could always download the Vegas 6 trial to see how that works. Any volume or pan information stored on a MIDI track is Control Change information to the VSTi that’s assigned to the MIDI channel. It modifies how the VST responds to MIDI notes. It’s not quite like saving volume and pan change information on the VST bus which modifies the audio signal. Also ACID can be a ReWire Host or Device so it should sync with FLStudio as either a master or a slave.

I realize these answers are not like investigating for yourself. If you are considering a change in applications, some around here seem to think that a new version of ACID is coming soon (no one really knows, but it has been a year since the last release). You might want to hold off that purchasing decision until it does. Then you could download that trial and see how much it can do for you.

It's also very possible that if you called Sony and explained your reasons, especially if you're an existing customer, that they may be willing to give you a temporary serial or another trial period.
