Is there any automated way of scanning multiple files to determine the highest peak across all the files, and then normalize all the files according to the level required by the file with the highest peak?

I suppose you could paste them all as regions into a single file, normalize that, then extract regions back into individual files again.

My search of this forum also revealed a tool called MP3Gain which appears to do exactly what I want.
