Well -- I mean besides original content -- I am finding more and more "mixes" based on tunes readily available from various labels.

Any opinions / comments?

I imagine if they're providing copyrighted content from someone else other than themselves, it's definitely not legal unless they received express permission to do so.

Yes, podcasting itself is perfectly legal. If you use content for which you don’t hold the copyright and don’t have permission to use, it is as illegal as is the same anywhere else. e.g., publishing pictures on your web site that you don’t own the rights to is illegal as well. It doesn’t make web sites illegal. Podcasting is just a communications medium. What you communicate falls under the same laws as print, radio, TV, etc.
