Subject:sample rate wants to stay at 48 Hz

When ever I paste 44 hz audio into a new window I get a message that says 'The sound sample rate is lower then the destination sample rate.' It just started doing this. Is there a default setting setting or something that will make this message go away so it'll always be at 44 even when i cut or paste? |

I would guess you've set your default new file parameters to 48KHz. When you paste into a file it will always be resampled to the file's sample rate. Create a new file and choose 44,100 for the sample rate and that will become the default again. |

Actually, Sound Forge does not resample on pastes, the pasted samples just assume the destination sample rate. So 44.1 kHz data pasted into a 48 kHz file will play faster/higher (hence the warning beforehand). There are a handful of reasons this behavior was chosen, but most are no longer relevant. Auto-resampling to the destination sample rate is probably the desired result in most cases. I'll add as a feature request. J. |

Thanks. I just fixed the problem by clicking on 'new' from the file drop down menu. Before, I was clicking the "new" ICON and not getting the sampling rate window to make the change. |
