Every time when I place my audio /source sample elsewere.
The next time Acid Pro starts, it crashes and gives the following error
( While searching for the new source destination).

Edit: Acid also says something like: D/Projects/Portable ....verify failiour.....ccp990....

This is strange, I had 1 sample which was 'Mono'low hz.. etc.
Acid has no problem using it when it is in the same .acd folder. But when opening it from other folder through search option acid crashes. So I now have changed the properties from the sample to 44 hz 16 bit.
Now Acid dosent crash anymore ;-)) while searching the other replaced files.
Just I thought I share it with you, bitrates lower than 22 hz can cause problems.

Are using an RME Hammerfall sound card? I had the same error with the latest RME 2.94 drivers, so downgraded to 2.93 and now it works fine. If you're not using RME, pretend I didn't say anything!

I suddenly started getting this error message when trying to startup Acid Pro 5.0c with my RME Multiface/HDSP NOT inserted/running I haven't tried it yet with the RME system plugged in and running.

I don't have any ReWire apps or plugins on my computer.

Why would this DLL have anything to do with RME or Maudio, or WHATEVER hardware?

I only have this problem when trying to start Acid Pro, but NOT with ANY other apps. (with or without RME harware running)

Seems to me this is a problem with Acid (or the programmers are ON acid). Or maybe it's a hostle takeover <hehe>?

Sony, how about an answer? We know about it, we're working on it? Something?

I got rid of Tascam Gigastudio and it solved a lot of problems... I can still access all the Giga samples by using Kontakt 2.

However, I do believe that Sony should be doing something to sort out this issue... when you do get these rewire crashes, you get them a lot.... I lost about half an hours work a few weeks ago, and autosave was not my friend on that day!

I haven't had a ReWire DLL crash in ages with ACID Pro 5.

Maybe it's possible your installation of ACID Pro went kablooey? Have you tried a complete uninstall and reinstall?

I fixed it by finding the rewire dll and renaming it to rewire.dll.bak and restarting my machine. After that Acid came back to life.

This should still be considered a bug.

I believe it is a documented bug but Propellerheads won’t fix it. They own the rewire .dll. If I understand it correctly, it has nothing to do with using rewire. If an audio port doesn’t close correctly, the rewrire.dll incorrectly reports a rewire error when there really isn’t one.

Awesome Greg, thanks! I'll try it.

I also have the RME Hammerfall and have this problem. Everything was fine for a long time, then it just showed up when I saved a project. After that I could not load the project.
I will try your workaround. I do find it odd because I, too, am not using rewire, and have my FL studio rewire device disabled.

Do a search in your Windows installation directory for

rewire.dll

Look at its properties and let me know what the version of this file is.

If you have multiple copies show up, let me know where they are installed to and their respective versions.

Thanks,
Peter

I found copies in each of the following folders:

C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FLStudio5\System\Plugin\ReWire 1.4.7.74
C:\Program Files\Image-Line\FL Studio 6\System\Plugin\ReWire 1.5.2.89
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 1.5.0.76

Thanks!

Still getting this error, crashes Acid. Still not using anything Rewire-related as far as I can tell.

Please make it stop?
