Text Resizing Problem in DVDA3

YesMaestro wrote on 9/14/2005, 8:51 AM
In DVDA3 I have text only as my buttons. Whenever I change to a larger font size with the drop down list, the text box never resizes horizontally, only vertically. I then have some text that has been carriage returned to the next line and I am forced to stretch the text box out horizontally for all the text to be on the same line. I am also the forced to resize the box vertically as it invariably overlaps text underneath. It never did this in DVDA2. Is there a setting that needs to be changed to keep this from happening?
Thanks

Paul

Have seen and struggled with this too - would be very nice if this was working properly - would save quitte some time !

edit: Was opening text in a graphics Editor possible in DVDA2?

I was a beta tester for version 3.0 and complained bitterly about this change while the product was still in development. Sony refused to listen to my complaints and left the change in the product. So much for being a beta tester.

It sure slows down the process of building a project, doesn't it?

No workaround that I know of, other than learning to re-size the box horizontally before making the text change (and then selecting all the other boxes and matching their new size to this new size, and heaven help you if you don't make one of them big enough because then you have to go back and repeat the whole nonsense for all the other boxes ... )

Yeah just like text editing in the Ice Age..... hammering away on a solid rock
Good to know it was already seen by the beta testers - pity it wasn't fixed right then.
Hopefully it will be fixed very soon as it really slows down the workflow and takes away too much time (and patience) if you have to go through one or more menus with text

You bet. I'm tempted to go back to v2 just because of this. I don't really use the new feature in v3 but got it in the upgrade.
Thanks for the info about it.

Both of you, please send your complaints to Sony via the Support -> Product Suggestions link at the top of this page. In that suggestions, copy the link to the first post in this thread so they can see what other people think about this problem.

I sent one in as well, even though they've heard from me before on this subject.

Bump.

I agree - pain in the proverbial!

Sorry for the late response, I was sure there had to be an option to change this. Just how do you resize the box before doing the text?

This problem also appears when working with subtitles.
