Subject:Can't open AIFF or 64k kbps MP3 files in SF8

I can open 64 kbps MP3's in Windows Media Player and AIFF in Cubase, but when I try to open them in SoundForge 8, I get and error message saying the format is not supported. 128 kbps MP3's open and play just fine. Any suggestions? I am using an Echo Mia soundcard on and Athlon XP 2000 under Windows XP Home. Any help would be appreciated.

I saw this question, but I had no problems opening either file. I had nothing useful to suggest.

Bad installation perhaps?

Try these settings:
- Sound Forge: select, Options> Preferences> Audio - "Windows Classic Wave Driver"

- Echo Mia: Console> Settings> Check mark Syncronize Wave Settings then select Advanced> "WDM" mode.
