Subject:about Garritan, Kontact, Synful...

This is a newbie question, i've just upgraded to acid music studio 6.0, and i try to install Synful and Kontact 2 VSTi demo. Despite the fact that they are all recognized in the VSTi available box, I can't hear any sound when I play with my keyboard... It works perfectly with the Sony DLS one, but not with them... I can' t find any demo of Garritan personnal orchestra, is it compatible with Acid music Studio 6.0? Is there something i do wrong? Please help? P.S: not mention english mistakes... I'm french... Make sure your MIDI input is set to the correct input your keyboard is connected to. (I don't know exactly how it's done with Music Studio 6, but in ACID Pro, the preference is under Options > Preferences > MIDI. The available inputs should be at the bottom.) Iacobus |

mD, Yes the midi keboard is well configured (I tick the Yamaha usb keyboard in the midi input tag). in fact, It works perfectly with the Sony soft synth, but not with kontact2 and Synful (i've just received a mail from Synful, they should fix acid compatibility in one month or two..) that's resolving one of my problem... |

What are the symptoms of the incompatibility between Synful and Acid ? I have used Synful with Acid Pro 4 and I haven't noticed anything wrong... Apart some strange behaviour about volume and velocity (as if the player was too "nervous" : a slight variation of velocity results in a huge volume change) but no crash. If I was aware of potential problems, I could check it more carefully. Thanks ! |

I have Kontakt 1.2 and Garrison Personal Orchestra working fine in ACID Pro 5 so they do work. I’ve never seen a demo of GPO but it sounds really great. It’s a full orchestra both wet and dry at your fingertips. Can you get Kontakt to work from the internal keyboard? Press the EDIT button on one of the voices in Kontakt and then press the Mapping Editor button under that and a keyboard will be displayed showing you how the samples are mapped. You should be able to touch that keyboard with the mouse and hear the samples play back. ~jr |
