I've used acid for years and I have at least 400 acid projects in my song folder. This has always bugged the crap out me. How do I get acid to remember the way I open files? Everytime I hit "open" it's set to, " all project, groove, and media files" I have to set it to "acid project files" then click "details" then click, "date created" tab oh and it's not set to most current date from the top, so i have to click again. and then I search for the acid project just to find a freakin' track. I know it sounds silly but on a busy day this adds up to an extra 30-45 minutes of clicking. The only workaround I've figured out is to keep my acid songs folder open and just drag projects into acid. It would be great if acid would just remember how I view folders like windows does, then i could just use the key command to open a file. Message last edited on9/27/2005 1:16:25 PM bycoolout. |

100% agreed. This has been bugging me recently with Vegas and was going to post about it over there. Vegas now shows all your media files when opening a project... when really most of the time you just want to view your project files. So, yeah, again you have to change the view every time. I agree ACID, and Vegas, should remember all your view settings. While we're at it, we need Most Recently Used drop-downs on every file dialog in all Sony software!! Ben |

i wish there was a way to set it so that every track i import comes in as a one-shot. i do get tired of having to switch everyting from loops or beatmapped tracks to one-shots when i import them. |

djiko: Try unchecking the "automatically start the Beatmapper Wizard for long files" option under Options > Preferences > General. Also, try setting the lower limit field under "open files as loops if between" option under Options > Preferences > Audio. Anything under what's specified will be a One-shot. thanks for the tips, Iacobus. i'd already done away with the beatmapper wizard, but will try altering the "open files as loops if between" field as well. i think i might've tried that before, but will have another look. i think the problem might be that i tend to assign tempos to tracks in sound forge so i can more easily time-stretch them, etc., and acid probably sees that a tempo has been assigned and imports the files as beatmapped tracks. |

You're welcome. :) To be sure that your files from Sound Forge get imported as One-shots, be sure to go into the ACID properties in Sound Forge (Special > Edit ACID Properties) and specify (natch) "One-Shot". Then save the file. Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid Buy Instant ACID by JohnnyRoy and mD! mD at ACIDplanet |
