Subject:SF8 not showing ASIO Driver

I got the lastest ASIO drivers for my Delta 1010.
The ASIO driver does not show in my Sound Forge 8.0b Preferences>Audio Tab.
My ASIO driver does show in Acid 4.0f.
Any ideas why no ASIO in SF8.0b?
Thanks
Gary

Was ACID open and set to the device when you launched Sound Forge? If so, make sure the General pref in ACID labeled "Close audio and MIDI ports when ACID is not the active application" is checked, then launch Sound Forge.

Hi J:
No, Acid was not open.
"Close audio and MIDI ports when ACID is not the active application" was already checked.
I'm opening SF8 all by itself when no ASIO drivers are available.
I hope you have some more ideas!
Thanks
Gary

You're running SF8.0b? Did SF crash at all before this happened? There is a bug where if it crashes while using ASIO, the option for ASIO vanishes next time you start it. Try uninstalling then reinstalling it.

If you've recently installed 8.0b, you'll want to verify that sfasio.dll is present in the Sound Forge installation folder under the "Audio Hardware Drivers" folder.

If not, see this kb article (though it just tells you to uninstall/reinstall).

That all seems rather drastic - here's what you can do:

1) close soundforge
2) go to c:\program files\sony setup\sound forge 8.0
3) open the zip file "sfasio.zip"
4) copy the file "sfasio.dll" to c:\program files\sony\sound forge 8.0\Audio Harware Drivers

ASIO should now be back as an option in Sound Forge!

Thanks for that answer, I just had the same problem.
Wouldn't ever have found the solution, and after some old problems with an old PC and then having to re-install my old Soundforge6 quite often, I shrank away from simply uninstalling-reinstalling 8b.

Yup, same problem here! Thanks for the solution ... I too have spent a few hours trying to resolve it before coming here. Sony ... time for another update I think.
