I couldn't find any real explaination so I figured I'd ask the experts out there. I have some recordings that I need to increase the volume on-mostly dance tracks from the early 90's. It seems Wavehammer is the better way to go as compared to normalizing but which setting in the presets will give me the most natural sound? What is better & just what is meant by the setting "master for 16 bit"? Would that setting be better than "limit at 6db & maximize"? |

for some reason, that has been working for me for the past 6 years using SF. I didn't have wave hammer, i used 'Waves' ultramaximize - master for 16 bit. between the two, normalize and wave hammer, i'd go with the WH anyday for music. maybe I'm wrong, but it worked for me doing radio stuff. |

It´s best to compress first low freqs first about 4 db in multiband dynamics and then try some WaveHammer. Six db boost maybe unnatural four db boost sounds more natural. Try everything... |
