I have a Roland U-20 and have the trial version of Acid Studio 6. I want to trigger sounds of my new virtual instrument MIROSLAV ORCHESTRA which is set up within ACID STUDIO 6. So I went out and bought a USB midi connector and made my connection to it for input and my output to my sound card. I can get sounds using the computer keyboard but cant get anything with my Roland Keys. I have tried everything. Could it be the trial version dpoes not allow this?

Please help,
Randy

PS I have the midi out to in my keyboard then in to out keyboard.

In order to use your external MIDI keyboard as a controller you must:

1. Connect the MIDI OUT of your keyboard to the MIDI IN of your computer's USB MIDI interface
2. In ACID go to Options > Preferences > MIDI
3. Place a checkmark next to your USB MIDI device under Make these devices available for MIDI input
4. Press OK

When you insert a VSTi Synth, it should now play from the external MIDI keyboard.

Question: Does ACid Studio 6 handle wave files to be played along side midi?

Yes it does. You can record wave files as OneShots and they are just like regular audio tracks. In the Record dialog, uncheck Make new track follow project tempo (Beatmapped track)

Jr.,

Is there a way to record a MIDI to become a wave?

Thank you,
Randy

Yes. If the MIDI is from an internal VSTi, then just solo the MIDI track and Render the project to a WAV file. Then drop that wave file back into the project.

If the MIDI synth is an external module, then you have to connect the audio out of the MIDI device into the audio in of your PC. Then solo the MIDI track and record the audio into another track as you play the MIDI back.
