I'm using ACID with Sfz and soundfonts. Does anybody know SOUNDZONE.INFO (membership required - 18.95 USD per month) ? - Are the sound of good quality ? Do they worth the while ? - How can the member cancel his membership (I can't see any link for that) ? |

I’ve never heard any of them but there are many high quality free SF2 sounds available if you look through SynthZone.com. ~jr |

Thanks. SynthZone contains a lot of links, indeed. I have already downloaded a lot of free soundfonts all around the web but I plan to "go further" with some "top" quality soundfonts, especially piano and strings. What about gigfiles.com ? It seems to offer large files, thus I guess a better quality. Does anyone use them ? |

> especially piano and strings. Do you have Splendid Grand? It was originally produced by Akai to use with it's hardware based samplers S5000-S6000. The samples were based on a Steinway D concert Grand. There is a 72MB and 128MB version. It is quite nice and there is a link to it on SynthZone. My favorite site for strings and orchestra soundfonts is SoundFonts.it. Also check out their excellent VSTi Instruments, MyRay (Fender Rhodes), MrTramp (Wurlitzer EP), ORGANized trio (Hammond B3) and VST FX MrDonald (Leslie simulator). The VST’s are donationware but the author really does deserve some cash for these excellent instrument emulators. ~jr Message last edited on9/22/2005 6:38:14 AM byJohnnyRoy. |
