Subject:Mono and VST plugins in SF8b

Has anyone noticed a problem with using a VST on a mono file in SF8b? I have seen some streange results (mystery gains, distortion, and some others), and can't figure out it the problem is SF8b or the plugins.

Some plugs ARE designed for stereo files only.
However I usually get an error message stating so as a possable reason for the error.
