Lip Synch problem

Here is a weird one for you.. Using Vegas 6.0b..
Have a half hour of material on the timeline..
When I print to tape, there is a clip (maybe 24 or 25 minutes into the production) which lose's lip synch .. (when printed to tape)
If I play back the timeline, all is well.. If I just load that clip on the timeline and print just that cliip to tape, it is OK.. Only when it is in the whole project and printed to tape , then it lose's lip synch..(the clip is about 2 minutes in lenght)

Any ideas here??

What is the source of the video, and how was it captured to the computer? Was it DV video? HDV? Analog video captured via a capture card. There are some issues that can arise with sync, especially with analog capture cards.

It was DV captured via firewire into a laptop(with a fast firewire drive)
