Upgrade to Vegas 6 +DVD or not?

Hi All,

I know this question is probably a bit dated, but I will ask it anyway. I currently use Vegas 5 and burn my DVD's (with menus etc.) using Nero. I'm not saying all is perfect, but things are working relatively well. So what I ask--is it worth the $300 for me to upgrade to Vegas 6 and start using DVD to create & burn my DVD's? I do mostly photo/video montages with photos, music & video.

Thanks for your input.

except the media manager, there's not a lot of differences between 5.0 and 6.0... I've jumped from 4 to 6 and it was a worth buy for me...

maybe you can wait the 7.0 (and me the 8.0 ;-) )

If you've got a fast machine then V6 seems to render faster, DVDA is more capable. Certainly been worth it for us BUT I do find V6s GUI more twitchy.

I think that the nested .veg file feature alone is worth the upgrade. Not only is it cool in and of itself, but it also lets you take full advantage of cool add-ons like Ultimate S.

Most of my work is multi camera and DVD, V6 with Excalibur 4 makes multi-cam work easy, and I am really making some nice menus using DVDA3.

I don't use the media manager - haven't founf a need for it. Maybe my y projects aren't complex enough yet.

I did a project with a nested veg file for the first time today - must say that it's cool.
