Who knows. Currently QT7 sucks and does not work properly in Vegas. Its hard telling what will happen once they get out of their beta stage. Thats kinda like asking will my computer run correctly once M$ stops writing buggy code.

Okay; I've just installed quick time 7 pro, Vegas doesn't recognize it... Why?
I try to use Quicktime H264 codec to render an HD video, an error happened...

What's wrong with Vegas? Oh oh Time for a Vegas6c update... :-/

jbaudrand, why do you immediately assume it's a problem with Vegas not Quicktime? Isn't Quicktime 7 (for Windows) just barely out of beta?

Why not get Nero 6.6 Ultra?

Their H.264 has been referenced here as being vastly better than Apple's crude implementation.

yes - but the container is not so easy to use as a web format .... not if you want people to view it ...

really the same goes for h264 w/ QT also -- not everyone will want to upgrade right away ...

Time to switch to Flash 8.

I'm hoping to get my full release next week from Macromedia.

No clunky player loading, and early indications are that it is less severe on the CPU than H.264, and the quality is better than WM9.

I went to a Macromedia seminar about Studio 8 recently, and liked what I saw a lot, both in terms of the quality and the usability of their new generation software tools.

When somebody clicks on a Flash 8 video the first time, there will be a ~400KB quick download of the new codec (and it will ask first).

okay, you're right, after this accident I've just tried a render under lightwave same problem with H264... I apologize if someone was hurt by me, I was upset... :-/

Okay, is there any other solution to make HD web output without pay another codec... where can I find the wm9 hd codec, is it free?

sorry again...:-/

WMV has been able to support HD for ages and it's free.
