Autoshuffle and moving all inc. chapters

I have vegas movie studio + DVD platinum. I am new to this.

I have built a large compilation of a number of DV tapes, and sometimes have to change the order of clips i.e. add or delete a clip.

I want to insert / or delete, and have the balance of media (across all timelines, video, audio, effects, chapters) etc to move in or out as appropriate.

Auto shuffle seems to be the feature for this. It does move the audio and video and effects out, but I seemed to have problems with chapters (had to manually move them).

Can anyone comment whether auto shuffle is the best way to solve this? - and whether it should handle chapter markings as well?

Thanks
(and if anyone knows a good book for this new version I would be interested. or are the vegas 6 books quite relevant? I feel like I need to learn a lot more!).

If you're talking about auto ripple there are three settings. Click
the arrow to the right of auto ripple button and select all tracks markers and regions. Hope this is what you're looking for.

thanks that had skipped my attention. It helps a lot - though I notice effects do not (even when I say select all events till end, and auto ripple all affected events as well).

Other comments appreciated to clear this up. In short, events aren't locked to the change between clips, which seems to make sense (to me at least in my project).

What kind of effects are you talking about?

If they are on a separate timeline try grouping it with the image below.

The type of effects I was talking about were text on the top timeline.

Despite doing selects that I thought selected everything I am guessing I didn't do it correctly. I have been getting inconsistent results. *Sigh*.

Is there any particular method of grouping you use?

Group the text with the neighboring clip and they should move as a single unit.
