Subject:Acid 5 not seeing VSTi correctly

I am using the jamstix vsti drum software w/ BFD as an external drum module.
Acid 5 is seeing jamstix as a VSTi Effect rather than a VSTi Instrument. This is not right. Acid see`s my other plug-ins, i.e. BFD and Alpha synth just fine.
How do I get Acid to do what its supposed to do which is see this program as a VSTi Instrument. It works just fine in Acid 4.

But I want to use it in Acid 5 because it has support for multiple vsti plug-ins. Acid 4 does not.
Thanks

What happens when you try to add jamstix as a VSTi in ACID?

Does it appear in the VSTi prefs/config page of ACID? If so, what does it tell you?

If it does not appear in the list, have you tried to rescan you VSTi plug ins?

I dont' know what you mean about ACID 4 does not support multiple vsti plugins. Sure it does. You can have upto 32 VSTi connected in ACID 4.

Please update your profile to include and show you system specification.

* Sometimes it shows up as a vsti effect, but not as an instrument

Does it appear in the VSTi prefs/config page of ACID? If so, what does it tell you?
*No. Only in VSTi effect. No matter where I move its folder to. Ive also tried deleting the vstsynth key in the registry.

If it does not appear in the list, have you tried to rescan you VSTi plug ins?
*Yes. Ive tried the alternate folders options also, and refreshed it.

I dont' know what you mean about ACID 4 does not support multiple vsti plugins. Sure it does. You can have upto 32 VSTi connected in ACID 4.
*Sorry. I mean outputs. Acid 4 only does stereo outputs. BFD has 9 outputs, for kick, snare, cymols, toms hihat etc.

I've never heard of a VSTi showing up as a VST effect before. Something could be horked in your setup. Have you tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling ACID 5?

No. Thats the only thing I havent tried. I assume I wont lose any of my previously saved projects if I do that, right? Or will I need to save them somewhere and re-install them into acid after I re-install it?
I have, however re-installed the Jamstix program.

ACID never deletes what it did not create. However, ideally you should keep your .ACD projects in a folder you created yourself (like "My ACID Projects").

Be sure to install using only the update. (It will act as the full version. Be sure to have your serial key handy.)
