Probably been asked and answered a thousand times, but I am more than new at all of this... A couple of the magazines I subscribe to have loop disks that come with them (sample disks, etc.) Not all of these, of course, are "acidized" files - but can they still be used in Acid, and if so, what issues arise because they are not true Acid loops? Thanks in advance - JTS |

I just try them and see if they work. If they are good enough for the trouble, I'll edit them in sound forge. And you can re-save a loop as an acidized file. But here is something about mp3 loops that you will not like. When you save an mp3 file there is a header at the beginning of the file that gives you just a little bit of silence. But it is enought to mess up the looping. And you can't edit it out as long as it's an mp3. |

Adding to what DKeenum mentioned, if you try to import an un-ACIDized sample into ACID, ACID will try and do its best to determine the right number of beats. However, ACID will not try and determine the key; ACID just does not analyze the pitch of a given sample. That's why it may be best to ACIDize the sample yourself. Any sample can be ACIDized to your liking. You just have to know how. The simplest way is to determine the number of beats and key and then go into the properties of the track and then save those changes right into the media (via the same track properties dialog). There can be a lot more to it though, such as adjusting the stretch markers. Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid Buy Instant ACID by JohnnyRoy and mD! mD at ACIDplanet |
