I had to rebuild my C drive and reinstall Sound Forge 8. Even though I re-registered Sound Forge, a lot of the FX plug-ins still say "Demo". For example: Time Stretch, Paragraphic EQ, Multiband Dynamics, Vibrato, and Graphic EQ. (All of these plugs show a Sonic Foundry logo, BTW. Don't know whether that's significant or not.) Although they still seem to work OK, I'm afraid they will expire. As a matter of fact when I tried to use one in Acid, it kept beeping which I assume means it had expired. How do I reauthorize these plug-ins. I opened a support request on 8/13 on this, and have yet to receive a response. So I'm hoping I have better luck here. |

If you are seeing Sonic Foundry branded plug-ins, then the correct ones did not get installed or registered with 8.0. Make sure you install 8.0 under an account that has full registry access (i.e. admin). DirectX plug-ins must be registered globally. So the safest option is to uninstall and re-install. But if the sfppack*.dll files exist in in c:\Program Files\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Audio, you can try just drag-n-dropping them on an open instance of Forge to re-register them. J. |

Having thought some more about what I did, I think the real problem was that I installed the Sonic Foundry Batch Converter 5.0 after I installed Sound Forge 8. (Because I still like the old batch converter better.) So I unistalled Sound Forge and CD Architect and re-installed them and everything seems to be fine now. |
