How can I overdub a track on top of another with out also recording the old tracks. That's what happens now. I record track one with a guitar part A and when I over dub with guitar part B I get guitar part A and B. I don't want that. I use a P4 Dell gen 3 computer and the guitar comes off my amp into the line in of the sound card. |

You have your sound card set to record the mixed output rather than just the line input. Go into the Options / Properties / Recording screen for the sound card and select line input. |

I can't get to where you said I should go though the Acid Xpress program (that tree doesn't happen) and I can't figure out where to go through the Audigy programs. There is no I just standing here flapping my arms. Thank you for the help. |

I got it to work. It was a little different but the dialog wasn't the same. I clicked a box that said "Record without monitoring" under the ANALOG MIX slider in the MS XP mixer. |
