Hi - I don't have an answer, just a workaround that I use.

After going through several iterations of taping, editing and playing back, I found that I need to manually adjust the light settings on my camcorder until the LCD image looks about 20% too bright! If I adjust them to be "just right" on the LCD, they are too dark on my computer or when burned to a DVD.

I'm hoping someone who knows more than I do responds to your question -- I'll be watching. Good luck.

Get a hold of a color chart that also has a black and white gradiation scale running along the bottom. Adjust you camer accordingly. (Most of the professional equipment have color/contrast adjustment built-in.)

Once you've shot the color bar, then adjust your monitor. Ideally the output to DVD will also match. If not you'll have to adjust accordingly. (not to mention that it should be close to the color bar chart included with MS.) It's the poor mans approach, but it'll work.
