how can I burn a long project to proof it?

My current commercial project is around 2.5 hours and will need to be replicated on DVD-9 (as opposed to the 2-disc option which I've discounted).

My question is, can I burn such a long program on my A04 in order to proof it in several DVD players? I know I can use the DVDA virtual controller to proof it right in the program, but I prefer to view the project on a disc in a TV and player at some point. What do some of you do in this situation?

if there's a DVD9 RW you could use that. Is there (I don't burn DVD9 yet)

Well, first off you'll need to be using DVDA 3.0, or alternatively something like Nero or CopyToDVD to do the actual burn. Second you'll need to get a DL burner - your A04 isn't going to cut it. My suggestion is that when looking for a new burner, find one that burns +R DL media with a booktype of DVD-ROM by default (I believe that the newer Pioneer burners do this - look at the optical storage reviews at www.cdrinfo.com).

Thanks, Scott, good info there.

Has anyone had experience with the BenQ 1640 burner? Is it compatible with DVDA3?
