Is it possible to control Ableton Live! from Acid in real time? I'd like to be able to use the video feature of Acid, while having being able to tweak the music in Ableton Live! Nothing complicated just would like to be able to start/stop Ableton Live from Acid while using Acid's video feature.

This is probably better asked on the Ableton forums. One way to do this is via ReWire. ACID can be both a ReWire host and a ReWire device so ACID is good to go for ANY connections. Ableton would have to have support as a ReWire device (for it to be controlled from ACID) which I would bet it does not have. It can probably only be a ReWire host. This would be a limitation of Ableton not ACID.

I know you can add ACID to Ableton as a Rewire device and have the Abelton transport control ACID. But ask on the Ableton forums, I may be wrong about its capabilities.

Ableton Live 5 can both work as a Rewire host/master or device/slave. [...edited, see SonyPCH's reply below]

Thanks for the useful info! I thought Rewire was only for Reason. This changes everything!

ACID should HOST Abelton in this case as the ReWire protocol is not designed to deal with video sync and you will loose synce between Live and ACID's video time line.

So, ACID should be the HOST/Master in this case when using ReWire.

Peter, that's interesting to learn, I didn't know that. Thanks!
