hey guys its me again im sorry i have so many questions i just got acid music 5 4 my bday anywyas im tryign to insert a soft synth but it wont let me drag it onto the screen why not? im trying to use footsteps cause i need that kinda thing on this song im making im trying to drag from 6-5 on the keyboard and insert it anyone have a clue how i can do that plz tell thank u |

The SoftSynths are controlled by MIDI data not drag and drop. What you want to do is: 1. Insert the Sony DLS Soft Synth 2. Select the Footsteps voice 3. Close the SoftSynth 4. Insert a MIDI Track (Ctrl+Alt+Q) This brings up the MIDI Piano Roll Editor. Notice the keyboard on the left should be playing the footsteps when you press a key. 5. Now paint the footsteps where you want them. (note: use the play button in the editor to audition them) 6. When you’re done, press the Save button (diskette icon in the upper right) Congratulations, you just did your first MIDI recording using the Piano Roll Editor. ok johnny i did get it to work thank u now can u tell me how i can speed what i just made up so that is faster but it doesnt affect the rest of the song cause i dont want the whole song to be at like 130 bpm i want the rest of the song to be at like 20 |

The speed that the MIDI data plays is relative to the duration and spacing of the notes you use. If the footsteps are too slow using quarter notes, make them eight notes (twice as fast) or sixteenth notes (4 times as fast) or thirty-second notes (8 times as fast) or sixty-forth notes (16 times as fast). Use the dropdown select of the Paint Tool in the Piano Roll Editor to determine the length of the notes you paint (or scroll in on the grid with the Draw Tool) In other words: you want shorter notes that are closer together to make them play faster. ~jr Message last edited on8/18/2005 8:17:06 PM byJohnnyRoy. |

im tryign it and its very hard to me it all sounds the same i cant get it to go really fast i think u have an idea of what im trying to do its the sound from c5- to c6 but i cant get it to go fast and i did use the drop down menue but its not seeming to make it go faster am i doing something wrong? |

Sorry, it’s hard to explain and easier to show. My bad. You also have to space them closer together. So instead of 4 quarter notes in one measure, you place 8 eight notes or 16 sixteenth notes in one measure. Placing them closer together is actually what make them play faster (but of course you have to shorted their duration so they don’t bleed into one another which is why I said use shorter notes) ~jr |
