Upgraded my Movie Studio product and received Acid XMC along with it. I'm not computer illiterate, but I can't figure out how to get anything to function. Help screen says to go to the insert menu and select midi track, but that option does not appear. I keep selecting DLS soft synth and it keeps opening new controls in the mixer window but I have no clue how, or if, I can get anything from there to a track. Dropped an MP3 onto a track and the track description showed the name of the file, but nothing appeared in the track. Opened track properties and there was the file. Was able to play the file, but never did get it to appear in the actual track window. Used the paint tool and drug it across the track and low and behold the audio appeared, but it was extremely compressed. The product page on the Sony site says "ACID XMC software includes over 600 professionally recorded rock, pop, and hip-hop loops to get you started.", but I have no clue where. Maybe I am an idiot but the directions are vague at best.

Stupid, stupid, stupid! My gosh you're so dumb! ;o)

(Just kidding! I'm being facetious if you couldn't tell.)

ACID is not your typical DAW program per se. It takes a pick, paint and play approach (which is really just scratching the surface, especially in regards to ACID Pro).

What you have to do next, after you've added the media to your project, is paint the track in onto the timeline. Try clicking the Draw Tool or the Paint Tool, then click and drag across the respective track.
