I recorded in stereo but the mike was turned so that only the top channel has actual content. I tried to duplicate the content in the lower channel, but the program doesn't seem to let me do that. I have Sound Forge STudio v. 6. Is there any way to do this? Can it be done in Sound Forge itself? |

You could highlight the left channel only by dragging the cursor above the 0dB line. You'll see it change to an "L" which means you will select only left. Copy, then position the cursor at the beginning of the right channel and Paste. You could save the file as mono, which would mix the two channels together. Under Process/Channel converter (i think Studio has this, but it may only be in the full version) there is an option to combine the channels into mono and you can select any mix of the two channels or just a single channel. If you don't need anything in the right channel then saving the file as mono is acceptable. A mono file can be used in place of a stereo file and the signal will play back evenly through both the left & right channels. Mono files are also half the size of stereo files so you can save some disk space. |
