Hi all, I have Acid Pro 5. When I play wav loops in Acid they sound slightly chorused or doubled. When I play the same loops in any other audio program they don't have this effect and sound as they should. My sound card is an Audigy 2 and I have the latest drivers installed for it. I have shut off all effects in the Creative Labs apps so I don't think the problem is there. Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. |

This can sometimes happen when the tempo of the loop is very close to the tempo of the project (i.e., the project is 120, and the loop is 120.876 or 121.243, etc.). This is especially noticeable in drum loops. What loop libraries does this happen with? Or do all loops sounds this way? ~jr |

I was going to say the same thing JohnnyRoy said. I notice this with distorted guitar loops. As a test, try soloing the particular track, then right-click the track's icon in the track list and select "Use Original Tempo (xxx.xxx BPM)". If the loop sounds much better, look into tweaking the loop by accessing the track properties and playing around with the stretch markers under (natch) the Stretch tab. (Sony's loops are usually tweaked as best as they can be, but this is a tip any ACID Pro user should get accustomed to for their own material or material that just wasn't ACIDized beforehand.) Thank you JohnnyRoy and mD for your replies. To answer JohnnyRoy's question about the loops. I don't notice it on all loops. I noticed it mostly on bass loops I got from Drums On Demand. I have that and a couple drum loop cd's from them. They are the only loops I own so I don't have other products to compare to. I followed the suggestions given by both of you and it helped a lot. The chorus effect is barely perceptible now compared to playing the loops in Windows Media Player. I still need to experiment with the Stretch function some more. |
