I'm thinking of giving Acid Pro another try, do I have to install the media manager and the MS addon. I do not need this stuff. I will be working with very few samples at a time, so to keep my machine easy on the resources since its a notebook I'll be using. Thanks...

Yes and No. You are required to install it, (i.e., you are not given the option not to) but you can disable it in ACID Pro 5 and then uninstall it if you really don’t even want it on your system.

Adding to what JohnnyRoy said, if you want to disable the Media Manager, go to the General tab under Options > Preferences on the menu bar. The option will be near the bottom of the general preferences.
