Seems to me that any number of free screen capture programs would capture a screen of a doc. What exactly do you need, one screen, or many pages of the doc?

The cheapest Screen capture program is built into Windows. Just hit alt+PrintScrn on your keyboard. This will place a screen capture of the active window onto your clipboard. Then you just paste it into a document in a paint program.

Fancier capture programs can scroll a window and then stitch the captures together into one long image.

Go to www.nonags.com , look for "software for everybody", then look for "desttop capture", then look for a tool called MWSNAP. This will let you capture anything you can see on your screen to jpg, or a number of other formats. One of the most used tools I've ever downloaded and of course, since your listening to "El Cheapo", it's FREE!

Keep in mind that unless the Word document has relatively little text on the page and uses larger fonts that it is highly unlikely that it will be very readable when converted to video or DVD.

Hi Guys!

I've read and re-read our friend's wishes - "I have a Word Document that I'd like to use as a graphic in Vegas 6. Is there a way to re-code Word into a file type that Vegas recognizes..i.e. jpg?"

Now I have some questions for frankcn:

1/- Is it that you want the "text" from the Word document? - If this IS the case then i guess you already know the answer.

2/- Is it that you want the "look" of the Word document for some creative purpose in the video you are making?

OK, if it is #2, above, then I would then experiment by "printing" the document and either scan it OR video it. I'd really like to know the "effect" or end result you are trying to achieve - yeah?

There is more to this than meets the eye . ..

Grazie

You could "Send to Powerpoint" and then export from there.. Probably have to edit in Powerpoint. You can then export to any of those file types that are acceptable to Vegas. Pan and Scan as you like. Search this forum for powerpoint for some useful tools.

Siince screen resolution in powerpoint is rather low, you can fake it by making the page size huge and then get lots of pixels when you export.
