V6 network render problem

Hi All, Network Rendering is not working for me since I installed Vegas6. I have two AMD Athlon 1.6GHz processors.

I click File/RenderAs, then click Render Using Networked Computers/Save, then in the Network Render dialog box I do NOT check Distribute Rendering, click OK and the dialog closes but rendering does not begin. When I go to power down at the end of the day I get a box that says all these files are waiting to be rendered. Questions:

Why doesn't Network Rendering begin when I click OK?

In the Network Render dialog, by Render Host, there is only one: 53704. Shouldn't there be two, one for each processor?

In the Network Render Service window, under Renderers/Basic, there are none listed; under Renderers/Advanced there is the one 57304. Is this normal?

In the Network Render Service window, under Options, Enable Rendering is checked, which should "enable rendering" correct?

Thanks for your help.

1) Was it working for you with V5?
2) There are only multiple renderers - if you have setup multiple renderers... just because you have a dual processor system does not mean Vegas's network rendering will launch two NR nodes automatically.
3) Have you read through the documentation on NR? That tells you how to setup multiple NR nodes on the same PC.
4) Follow the steps described in the following article - that may solve your issue of the rendering job not actually running.

Liam, thanks for your reply.

1) Yes, NR was working with V5.
2) Do I even need multiple renderers? I simply want to cue files to render in turn. But then, I also want to take full advantage of having two processors.
3) What documentation? There is nothing in the manual or in Vegas Online Help that I could find on setting up multiple NR nodes on the same PC.
4) I followed the steps in the article you referred to and got stonewalled when I typed in "ipconfig" at the command prompt - all I get is the same command prompt.

I found the cause of the problem: in the Network Render dialogue box under Render Host there are two choices, but for the same host and one is written
"tcp://localhost:53704/NetRenderService.rem" and the other is written
"tcp://57304:53704/NetRenderService.rem"
The second one, which I was trying to use, doesn't work. The first one does.
Thanks for your help.
