I've been using Acid Pro 5.0 demo for a few days and am having trouble with the MIDI notes sticking. It's driving me crazy. It only happens if I'm recording or playing along with a track...in other words the notes DON'T stick if I'm just playing the keyboard and nothing is playing back at the same time. Certain VSTi's do it (Sampletank 2 especially). What gives? |

Do they stick in other applications as well? I have found that certain VSTi’s have problems with sticking notes but the problem shows up in all host applications (i.e., it’s the VSTi’s fault). In fact, I remember one of the updates to Native Instruments B4 stating that they fixed the sticking note problem so it is more than likely the VSTi’s fault and not ACID’s fault. But since ACID does have a "phantom note" problem, anything is possible. If you have a repeatable test case, I would send an email to tech support explaining how to recreate it. This will help them track down the problem. ~jr |

I have Sticky notes, just the same way that SonicSounds has. This issue is more reproducable with LinPlug DaOrgan VSTi. I found that it happens to me with this soft synth more than with other. Also, I can't tell if this has been resolved in 5.0b, but I still have "midi file beginning" tiny ghost notes. |

I find that with a lot of midi files I make, the first note won't play in the piano-roll editor, no matter where I start playback from and even on the second time around if it's looping. If I draw in a new first note, that note won't play, and then the other one will play. weird. |

Well, if all these issue aren't reproduceable for the devellopers, at least we can say that ain't no smoke without fire ^^. |

I'm so tired of BUMP ! -ing this one too... Now that I own Cubase SX3... I just don't get how the hell steinberg manage their VST interpretations. At least they could give Sony a hand on this one. |

> I just don't get how the hell steinberg manage their VST interpretations. At least they could give Sony a hand on this one. <soapbox>That’s kind of the irony in all this. Steinberg wrote the spec (they invented VST), then they don’t follow the spec, and everyone blames the 3rd party developers who are trying to work within the spec (which from what I understand isn’t very well written and leaves a LOT of wiggle room for interpretation). You can’t win. Giving Sony a hand isn’t in their best interest since they own a competing product. That’s what’s wrong when one vendor owns a standard. It gives them an unfair advantage. That’s why I won’t buy Steinberg products because I won’t support their tactics. (of course Microsoft isn’t any better and that’s why they are the evil empire that they are) ;-)</soapbox>~jr Message last edited on8/11/2005 6:35:24 AM byJohnnyRoy. |

I still get hanging notes a fair bit, even when using the express NI synths included with Acid...it seems like a note just occasionally doesn't receive its note-off signal and I have to reset all ports before it'll stop. When can we edit MIDI in track view???? Please? |
