It would appear that this is an outside ap? Not a direct plugin for Vegas 6. I couldn't see how to get it into Vegas. So you'd render out a sequence and import that, I assume.

that's right - just import the sequence. I've used this program a time or to on really REALLY fast projects, and it saved my butt. Got decent* 3d animations in just minutes for a client that needed it that night.

well - it suffers from Jaggies - not always, but sometimes. Keep it from contrasting too badly or you'll have to start doing a variety fo things to reduce the jaggies that also reduce the quality a little.

Be sure to adjust the resolution correctly ("set show resolution"). What BluffTitler offers is not what Vegas expects (at least not in PAL surroundings), e.g. actually there is no PAL DV square pixel format and even 768x576 is not a correct import format for Vegas if using square pixel.
Furthermore there are types of color contrasts which causes bad edges quality when rendered to PAL.

If you take care of the resolution and the colors used it might be bit better.

P.S.
Sorry, I set the post at a wrong position ...

P.P.S.
But I know see this is an internal problem of BluffTitler - not just an export problem. Seems to be related to the way BT scales the titles, overlays and backgrounds.

Hi,
The better your video card, the better the exported image quality.
My ATI9700 at highest quality settings, ie with anti-aliasing switched on etc, gives very good results, better than with version 2, but on my other machine with an older graphics card, the image quality is not as good.

I missed the antialiasing und import infos. Thanks for the reminder. And - yes - as BluffTitlers uses a screenshot mode to export the titles it probably will depend lot of the graphic card used there.

>> Export from BluffTitler 768x576 pixel ratio 1:1. Import to Vegas in 768x576 PAR=1 project.

Yes, in this case export/import should work perfectly. But usually people will have dv Vegas projects with dv settings (for PAL: 720x576, PAR = 1.0926, screen ratio = 4:3).
Here Vegas expects a resolution of 787x576 if the input is squared pixeled and if there shouldn't be a squeezing or black borders.

Re: Removing jaggies in BluffTitler. The other thing to make sure of is that your video card settings are at highest quality. To do this:

* Right click the desktop and select Properties, or open Display in the control panel
* Select the Settings tab in the Display Properties dialog that appears.
* Click Advanced... your card's Properties dialog will be displayed
* For NVIDIA cards, click the tab with the card's name. For ATI cards, click the OpenGL tab.
* You'll find options such as "Anisotropic Filtering" and "Anti-Aliasing" (ATI sometimes calls this "smoothvision)
* Set Antialiasing and Anisotoropic Filtering as high as they can go (or to some acceptable level like 8X).
* Save your settings.

BluffTitler uses the native capabilities of your card to help smooth jaggies and scale textures. Also, when you export your movie, try the "Blur" option to smooth the final image -- works great.

BluffTitler 3.0 has some great new features (to download the free demo go to http://www.blufftitler.us). I've put up some fun examples made with the new version, which you can view here:

While it looks excellent value for money I still find that the rendered output lacks a certain something compared to the high end tools. I always feel it looks like it belongs in a web page rather than a quality video production.
I'll probably buy it as it's cheap and you get the job done much quicker but compared to almost the same effects I see used in commercials it just says 'cheap'.

Grumpy Farss, if you don't like the cheapness this product looks don't buy it. Instead buy "the high end tools". I can't afford Boris and for the money , BluffTitler does it!!
